Installation and Operation of Emergency Safety Showers

1. As a basic rule the emergency safety showers must be placed as close to the working places as possible. The flushing must start immediately after the accidents have occurred, and last at least 5 seconds. When installing the emergency safety showers, please remember that the showers must be easy to find and that the access must always be free.
2. If a person works alone, it is wise to install a sound and/or light alarm too, which begins functioning as soon as the shower is operated.

Operation

2. When activating the emergency shower, the flushing continues automatically.
3. The injured person has help to keep eyes open by hand.
4. On the eye washes, the nozzles are protected by rubber cups to keep the injured from hurting again.
5. The nozzles also protect against dust and dirt by the caps, which are removed automatically by water.

Water Pressure and Temperature

1. The emergency safety showers are connected to the cold water system which ensures clean and fresh water. The temperature should be around 8ºC to 20 ºC.
2. The eye washes have the different pressure atomizing lip. It can be on the basic of locale hydraulic pressure to use the different pressure atomizing lip for the best effect.
